When tempted or craving those "undesirable" foods...you know, chocolate, cake, ice cream, cookies, candy...I give into it from the offset. This way, I can stay in control and find that a small piece, tiny bite, or "fun size" portion will satisfy the craving. It does not kill my caloric intake for the day and I can put that nasty craving behind me!
By holding out, I usually inevitably give in later and consume much more than had I dealt with it from the onset.
