I look at my healthy eating habits as a committed lifestyle change. The only thing that has worked for me is thinking of certain foods from an addiction perspective. Just as an alcoholic in recovery can't have a sip of alcohol, I believe certain foods are addicting to me, & therefore, I can't have them. Once I put a bite of those addicting foods into my mouth, it triggers my desire for more & I go into a downward spiral. Just "say no" and eat only foods that you know won't trigger a craving.

An easier way to mix "natural" peanut butter

As a natural peanut butter lover, I needed an easier& less messy way to mix the peanut butter from a new jar. If you've ever tried it, you know that the oil is at the top, and it's virtually impossible to mix it in the jar. I POUR it into a measuring cup, mix it, and then pour it back into the original jar. Once it's refrigerated, it no longer separates.

Eating in the Car

Due to my schedule I have to eat dinner in my car. Being able to plan my daily menu and account for this using SparkPeople has helped me to make better choices. Now a typical dinner may be 2 boiled eggs, a cheese stick, carrots, and a banana. All are easy to eat in the car, cheap, and healthy. I also throw protein powder in my homemade chai tea in the morning for breakfast. Who knew this could be so cheap and easy!
